Washing and preparing the ash needed for haigata - the art of forming ash for under the charcoal in a brazier (furo) - can take weeks. But during the day you will gain enough basic knowledge to replicate the process at home. The ash is provided and you will also learn about fundamental facts on charcoal (sumi).
